Kitesurfings expensive!!!!!!!

Yet another kitesurfer lost his board on Friday night, if your not a good kitesurfer you would want to be wealthy as all the beginners are losing their boards like crazy! Got a shot of a guy swimming out to see if he could find his:)

I know there hasnt been much wind lately but the past few evenings there has been NONE!

Saturday

Headed out on our 7 metres for a good session on saturday. Burned out to a sailing mark fairly far out, which was good fun. The speed strip was working well in the westerly wind. No wind forecast for the next week:( But nice to be able to relax after a few heavy days.

Pics Of Today

Burrow Speed Strip With a Westerly

Myself and Ryan sailed at the burrow today with my neighbour Andy and his friend Tim. We all headed out at around 10, with the the sandbank starting to appear. The wind was very gusty at that point and huge squalls were coming through. After a while the sandbank was uncovered enough to start using the speed strip, so we headed down the channel and sailed close to the sandbank heading out to sea as it was a westerly. (The Burrow also works in westerlies as this sandbank also creates a flat water strip) We sailed there until four o'clock and then threw in the towel and headed in.

We sailed twice in Kilcrea this week too, with very very mixed conditions!

Ryan will upload photos soon.

Where's the wind?

Went out skmboarding last night and decided to make a little video out of the few pics. The video doesnt give a great impression of it, but it great fun when your doing it. Thursdays looking good for wind so see you all at kilcrea!

Kilcrea

Had a fun session on our 7 meters in Kilcrea yesterday. Wind was really up and down, but one squal came over and we burned up to wind and wave. The wind was crossshore, but the chop was onshore so it was weird... Then the wind died and me and lewis had a long slog back. I got one heli-tack in which I'm pleased with, as I've been trying them for a while.

Late session on Monday

Steve, Maurice, Ryan and myself all headed out around 8 o'clock on Monday evening at the Burrow Beach. Ryan with a 6.5 and I took my 6.6, having so much fun we forgot what time it was and around 10 o'clock we were greeted not so nicely by my mum who had driven down the road in the car lokking for us! It was all worth it for late but great session.

Had a good session last evening, was a bit under-powered on my 4.7 but had a shot at some free-style, nearly getting a planing duck gybe... Lewis was ripping on the speed strip just after coming back from spain.
Heres a video of Saturday from JK....

We certainly got mixed weather this week! Unfortunately no sea-breezes came through but boy did friday and saturday perform. I headed out on Friday afternoon on my futura and 4.7. I was a bit under-powered, but there was squals coming through which were great. I was working on my jibing, and I have finally cracked them! I ended up ripping my footstrap off, so went in and got my 69l for a bit of wave sailing. The wind dropped as Alastair and Steve headed out, so i headed in at around half eight. Woke up on saturday to horizontal rain and ferocious winds. There was thunder and lightning in the morning, so I delayed my start for a while and to also wait for the tide to lower. I headed out on a super downhauled 4.7 and 69l. Just as I was about to head out, JK had a big wipe-out and ended bending his boom. I was a little bit worried hitting the water.... My first run was sideways at 28 knots! I ended up getting 31.8 knots, and a tired body. I'm definatley considering getting a 3.9! Lewis is back today, so we might head out for an evening sail at the Burrow.
